CASTLEDINE'S CORNER
I am 24 years of age and am the Motorcycle Sales Manager at Castledines Motorcycles, Blaby Road, Leicester.
Since the age of 3, I have been involved with motorcycles. I started riding quad bikes and had my first motorcycle at 8 years. After 4 years of riding, I progressed onto a moto-cross race bike and entered my first race when I was 12.
Since that time, I have competed in numerous beach races and have been a member of the Mablethorpre Sandracing Club. I progressed from being a novice to club champion. From 1997 to 2000 I became the National Grass Champion. After 2003, I switched to moto-cross jumps and the year following I became the East Midlands regional champion and qualified for the AMCA National Championships. This is a tough championship and attracts the very best riders. The races are covered by magazine and TV media.
We have recently bought a motor caravan to get to the circuit the night before rather than having to leave at the crack of dawn to get to the race meeting. The Championship is quite competitive and many riders have their own teams of mechanics. However, this does not phase me as I have excellent support from my family.
Unfortunately in 2006, I have a bad crash and suffered a fractured femur. I have made an excellent recovery and am again competing on my two works Suzuki’s.
